A simple, affordable website that fits your practice
I deliver on schedule and without drama, so you can relax and focus on the work that matters most.
Hi! Thanks for coming to my site. Iโm Ruth Anne Lundeberg. Iโm not a traditional web designer. Iโm a seasoned fellow independent creative: The founder and director of Mama Nirvanaโs New Yoga from 1999-2020, and a hypnotherapist in private practice since 2010. Since the beginning, Iโve relied on well-crafted websites to bring me students and clients. At first I worked with web designers and then learned to build my own. My websites have been the lifeblood of two businesses that require a steady flow of new clients at all times. Iโve learned a lot in 25 years about how to build websites that work for people like us.
Publishing a website feels personal and high-stakes.
Theyโre worried about being misrepresented.
Theyโve tried hiring a web designer, but it didnโt work out.
Theyโre concerned about getting in over their head, financially.
They donโt yet know what they need from a website.
They donโt know where to start.
They think they should do it themselves, but donโt have the time or interest to learn how.
They feel overwhelmed and would rather avoid it.
Someone has promised to build one, but it keeps getting postponed.
They have a limited budget and donโt think they can afford one.
Itโs difficult to calculate the cost of NOT having one.
Solo practitioners often struggle with starting or updating a website, not because of laziness or lack of commitment, but for real-world reasons, such as:
As a therapist, healer, or creative, itโs not enough to just have a website; it needs to be the right website for your practice, one which smooths the transition from curious individual to booked client, because it:
Is easy and rewarding for visitors
Is optimized to perform a clear purpose.
Limits its scope to only what you need.
Is something you feel proud to share.
Brings the right people to you.
Shows up in local searches.
Doesnโt crash or require constant tending.
Is actually finished and out on the web.
Thatโs how I do it.
When youโre in the dreaded โIโve got to get myself out thereโ phase
In my almost four decades of mentoring independent practitioners, four words bring up the most fear and dread: โget myself out there.โ They can paralyze even the most confident practitioner. The right website helps people find you, learn about your work, heighten their interest in working with you, and put them in touch with you, all without you having to โget yourself out there.โ
When you are already โout there.โ
A lot of people already know about you. You have referrals coming in. Whether you have space for new clients right now or not, the right website can support your future flow of clients. It makes it easy for people follow up on word-of-mouth recommendations. It organizes and presents your important information in one place, easily accessible by your current clients and potential new ones. You wonโt have to educate and explain your business/offerings/policies over and over again.
Not having the right website costs you time, energy, and income:
The right website will continue to support your business while you can relax and focus on your work. Build it right first, and you wonโt have to touch it for a long time to come.
Why I am doing this work
I believe that people who put their conscience before money, who choose apply their lifeโs work to making life better for others, and who have limited means, deserve to be seen, to be found, and to prosper in their work.
There is a need in our community that hasnโt been well served: clean, affordable websites created by someone who knows, from the inside, how solo private healing and creative practices function, and how to fulfill their particular needs.
Understanding Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
SEO refers to whether your website is shown to people when they search online for what you offer.
Itโs a combination of design, content, and settings that is deliberately built into a website. Itโs based on how search engines read websites and matches with how people actually search. If your site is clear and well-structured, Google can understand it and show it more frequently in searches, and to the people you are trying to reach.
I consider web design and SEO to be indivisible, if you want your site to be found by search.
Therefore, SEO is included in my build price.
Understanding User Experience (UX)
UX refers to what itโs like for a site visitor to get the information they need, understand you and your offerings, make a decision, and take an action, like reaching out to you.
If the experience is not easy for them, they can get frustrated, confused, lose trust, and leave your site, even if they are actually interested.
Good UX feels intuitive and frictionless because it's based on research into how people think, feel, and act when using websites.
Good UX is the basis of my web-building philosophy.
